The Raspberry Pi has lightweight version of Minecraft with a python API making it super easy to hack. Part of the PhysiCAD premise is to combine physical construction kits with digital modelling tools, and Minecraft and Lego are a match made in heaven.

In the video below is a short demo of how some basic force sensors linked up to a Raspberry Pi can be used to detect where a Lego brick is placed on a build board. The position of the Lego bricks are then translated using Python into a Minecraft world. Its a bit rough around the edges at the moment but we’re working on a much more sophisticated version. Stay tuned.
