Google’s handheld tablet combined with a digital scanner, Project Tango, is an easy way to create digital models of internal spaces such as rooms in a building. Editing the digital models is quite challenging though, especially as the Tango isn’t perfect and creates a lot of artefacts whilst scanning. The digital scans can be uploaded into Minecraft though, which can then be used as a quick and easy low-fidelity way of editing a model. It also acts as a great engagement tool for involving individuals in the design process that may not typically provide any input, for example, children thinking about their classroom and how it should be laid out.
